The story
Why a water company ends up obsessed with pricing
Ask anyone in North County what went wrong with their last water treatment job and they will not describe the equipment. They will describe the bill. A number quoted on the doorstep, a different number on the invoice, and a stage nobody could explain.
That gap is easy to create in this trade, because the thing being priced is invisible. A salesperson can describe your water accurately without ever testing it, and the description will be broadly right, because it is right for the whole region. The system you actually need is specific to your house.
Carlsbad Water Filtration exists to close that gap from the price side. We read the water at your tap, size from the readings, and put a flat figure in writing before anything comes off the van. Some visits end in a softener quote. Some end in a single drinking-water filter. A few end with us saying the water is fine and you should spend the money elsewhere.
What we are for
The short version
Make the number defensible. If we cannot point at a measurement and explain why a stage is on your quote, that stage should not be on your quote.
Everything else follows from that. Nobody works on commission. The price is itemised so you can strike a line off it. We will tell you when a system you already own is worth repairing instead of replacing. None of those are favours; they are just what happens when the measurement, rather than the margin, decides the answer.
What you get
Six things that are different here
Some are about the water, some about how the visit goes. All of them are things North County homeowners have told us they were not getting elsewhere.
A measured reading, in writing
Hardness, chlorine, TDS and pH, taken at your kitchen tap and an outside spigot, written on a sheet you keep. It is yours whether you hire us or not.
A price that does not move
Flat, itemised by stage, and good whether you call back tomorrow or in six months. If the job turns out harder than it looked, that is our problem, not a change order.
We know what the blend does
Imported Colorado River water is hard. Desalinated seawater is not. Carlsbad gets both, in shifting proportions, so hardness here is a moving target and a regional average is a guess.
Sized down wherever honest
Oversized softeners channel, regenerate too rarely and waste salt. We size resin volume from measured hardness and household size, which often means a smaller unit than you were quoted elsewhere.
Coastal and inland kept separate
Carlsbad, Encinitas and Oceanside are municipal-supply jobs about hardness and taste. Fallbrook and Bonsall are well jobs about iron, sulfur and sediment, in a stage order that matters. We do not blur the two.
We come back for the dull part
Cartridge changes, media swaps, valve repairs and re-bedding, on units we fitted and most we did not. If something is past saving we will say so rather than bill you to keep it limping.

Plain about claims
What we will and will not say
Worth stating, because this trade has a reputation for the opposite.
Equipment
We fit standard residential and light commercial treatment equipment, and the make and model go on the quote before you agree to anything. Where a product carries an independent certification we will show it to you rather than describe it.
Warranty
Manufacturer coverage is whatever that manufacturer provides, and we put the actual terms in front of you rather than summarising them generously. Our own workmanship we stand behind and come back for.
What we do not do
No scare stories about the municipal supply, no health claims we cannot support, and no telling you a stage is mandatory when it is optional. If a conversation starts to feel like that, you are talking to the wrong company.
Where we work
The county we cover
Carlsbad first, then Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, Leucadia, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Escondido, Rancho Santa Fe, Fallbrook and Bonsall. The full grid with routing notes is on the service areas page, and every system we fit is available at every address on it.

The first step is a reading
Forty minutes at your sink, numbers on paper, a flat price against them. If it turns out your water needs very little, that is a perfectly good outcome. (760) 315-4619.
